Product Description
INTENDED USE
Fecal Occult Blood Test Kit (Colloidal Gold) is used for in vitro qualitative detect of circulating antigens of P. falciparum (P.f), P. vivax (P.v) in whole blood. The Fecal Occult Blood Test Kit(Colloidal Gold)is an invitro qualitative immunochromatographic assay for the rapid detection of human hemoglobin in feces as an aid in assessing gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding. The text is for professional use only.
Summary and explanation
Gastrointestinal bleeding can be caused by many medical conditions. Blood in the feces that is not visibly apparent, also known as Fecal Occult Blood (FOB), may result from following common causes, which, at early stages, may not show symptoms other than just occult blood cancer (colorectal cancer, gastric cancer), adenoma or polyps, diverticular disease, haemorrhoids, inflammatory bowel disease, angiodysplasia of the colon, and Sickle cell anemia. Positive test results usually lead to further investigations to identify the bleeding site with the GI systems, unless there are other clinical clues.
The Test is a rapid immunoassay to qualitatively detect low levels of Fecal Occult Blood by reacting with human hemoglobin in fecal specimens.
TEST PROCEDURE
1.Bring all materials and specimens to room temperature (15– 30℃).
2.Remove the test card from the sealed foil pouch.
3.Hold the sample bottle upright with the tip point toward the direction away from the test performer, snap off the tip.
4.Hold the bottle in a vertical position over the sample well of the test card, deliver 3 drops (120 -150 μL) of diluted stool sample to the sample well.
5.Read the result between 15-20minutes.
Materials Provided
Note:Each sample bottle contains 1-1.5 ml of stool specimen collection buffer.
RESULTS
Positive: A distinct colored band appears on test line regions, in addition to a colored line on the control line region.
Negative: No line appears in the test line region. A distinct colored line shows on the control line region.
Invalid: The control line next to the test line does not become visible within 15 minutes after the addition of the sample.
